The Basics of Comic Books

 

Does your child love to draw comic book characters?

 

Have you children ever dreamed about creating their own characters, plot and storyline - maybe even their own comic book?


In this course students will learn the basics of writing and creating their own comics books.  Students will learn about how to construct a story, different types of panel transitions, how pictures and words relate to one another, character creation, the basic formatting of a comic book script, and more. All artist levels (beginner to advanced) are accepted. At the end of this course students will be required draw and assemble a 5-10 page comic. Each class will start with a ten minute warm up game followed by lecture.

 

 

Class time: 2:00pm - 2:55pm - Tuesday

Recommended Age/Grade: 3 through 8th grade

Class size is limited to 8 Seats

 

Supplies:Notebook, 9" x 12" sketch pad, ruler, 90 degree triangle, pencil, and a Sharpie marker.
